"Heartaches & Other Pleasures" holds 18 orignal songs about love, life and relationships - about the different facets like falling in love, disappointment, anger, sadness, letting go and being at peace and loving again. Ute uses her own deep-felt experiences in these songs as her way of processing and healing.
"Recording the CD, allowing the songs to come through and to share my experiences, has taught me a great deal. What, at the end, feels like the crowning experience, is the fact that I, all of a sudden, felt so thankful to all the things that happen in my life and for all the people crossing my path - the good and the bad; the realization, that all have a purpose, all are teachers or teachings. When I completed the CD I felt at peace with it all. I felt a huge gratitude, forgiveness and acceptance. I felt that I had come full circle. All the pain and hurt, and the fact, that I allowed the experience to happen, made me a stronger person.
